Love, Life and Dream On...

A University of California study found that 10 per cent of all start-ups in the Silicon Valley between 1995 and 1998 were by Indians, most of whom had come from the IIT system. This was the scenario between 1995 and 1998.

1.Raj Kamal Jha
2.Tushar Raheja
3.Sandipan Deb
Q. Guess, who’s next in this list?
A. Chetan Bhagat.

--> Once upon a time IITians were considered as geek entrepreneurs and technocrats. Now, they have become smarter. The entrepreneur in them gave birth to a new field of quick fame. It’s different than research, it’s different than entrepreneurship and it’s also different from bollywood to an extent.
Obviously, the talk of the campuses all over the Indian sub-continent is the rise of IITians as authors and novelists. The tale of technocrats who have left their highly equipped laboratories to write about some fictional world is selling like hotcakes. It’s a fact, better get used to this.
One thing this new generation of IITians in India is doing is making the lazy Indians like me to read novels. Indians are used to bollywood and cricket that anything apart from these can’t entertain an average Indian. However, authors like Chetan Bhagat have done a considerably great work by writing some easy to comprehend novels. The USP of these novels is that you can immediately identify yourself with the characters. They are so Indian that they seem to be the classmate or your neighbour’s son or daughter.
I too began reading novels influenced by Chetan bhagat’s literary excellence.
I was just turning the pages of the newspaper when I saw this
“IIT Student Sells Dreams”
It immediately caught my attention and I read the whole story. I even visited his website.
Q. Whose website?
A. Animesh Verma.

Yeah, he is the new sensation and the talk of the literary world. His maiden novel, “Love Life and Dream On...” has sold over 10,000 copies in less than a month. Animesh Verma, an alumnus of Hindu College, who is now pursuing Master's in chemistry from IIT-Mumbai, is not a fan of Chetan Bhagat unlike most of the IITians.
After reading the reviews, I’m surely going to get a copy of Animesh’s first novel and I strongly recommend every reader to read yet another IITian’s masterpiece.
I won’t give any review of the book here as I’m yet to have a look of the book but after reading the reviews I'm glad to give you some links to them too.

Hello Friends,
I am the author of 'Love, Life and Dream On'.The quintessence of love, life and dream on is to make everyone of us belief in our dream. Its about those details of life which we really dont care but they turn out to be faded dots on the canvass of the life which are required to complete the picture. There is a small Aniket in every one of us, mad, maverick, truant but yet responsible, there is an ample amount of Varun too, a complete suave nature, a small amount of Kunal also, the aggressive package. And a good amount of Vidya’s simplicity.
Life changes for them with 2 incidents....
Come with me and revisit your love, friends and dreams....
AND A DREAM WHICH HAS NOT BEEN FULFILLED BY YOU.....

I think i have had enough of these life replicas and slutty novels..

All of us IITIANS have the same problems-

Hopeless girls.
Ill Father
Brothel born professors..

Life is not about having alcohol and going the extreme way, penning it down in a blog and eventually making a book out of it..

Grow up kid..
face life as it comes..

Just stop blogging

Hi Ashish, m new to this blog n came to know bout this blog thru Animesh himself. i met him online today thru orkut. isnt it exciting?
i completed this book in 2 hrs. so all u can assume that the plot must b having something which kept me glued so much. though m a voracious reader.
i read chetan Bhagat b4 it, n Tushar Raheja too. but this novel "LOve,life and dream on.." is quite inspiring. as it directly aims towards the goals of youth. The power of youth is revealed, youth can turn the country. The natural depiction of incindents was most attractive , so i felt i was experincing the real adventure in front of my eyes. i laughed and cried according to the ups and downs of the novel. it made me to live my dreams ,,,to rejenuate them. this novel makes u think bout our country, our career, n everything which makes a life beautiful.there is no recipe to hv a wonderful life but the incidents themselves are persuading. in other words its "simply captivating", "revitals dreams". "DARE TO DREAM" .
go for it guys.....

hii buddy,
there is a further hike in the no. of your book readers.personally i found this as a versatile book with a crunchy story.hats off to yhe writer.
i like this stuff because a healthy mixture of diff. taste of life.i consider this book above par(my personal thaughts).persons who believe who share a close intimacy in their frd'ship and who believe in true love will really find them somewhere in the novel.there were good twist and turns in the story.
some of my "personal" critics on this book.
1.this book is above par.
2.very simple language (lingo) is used.
3.cool stuff 4 fr'd believers.
4.god mixture of feelings and human nature.
5. worthy explanation of a rocking campus and city.

1.many incidents seem more reel thyan real.
2.some of the places u have crossed the fomal literary barriers.
3.screwed up campus life seems a copied concept.
4.extra sentiness make the story slow in the middile and provides a shadow of boringness.
5.the sexual stuff has no rlation with the story, it only makes it vulgar to read.

i know i was some how harsh. but i have written whatever i felt. best of luck 4 future and a good day.

@ Ashish Gourav - Guy, either this author is your relative or you're the biggest ass alive(your face resembles so too). You publicized a novel without even reading it and guess what, you persuaded my friend here to buy the novel. And you know what, the novel SUCKED! Sucked big-time. There was no class, there was no elitism in the language, there was nothing extra-ordinary other than the author getting 'clean-bowled' by that whore-like Vidya or Divya whatever her sucking name was!

And the author boasts of being an IITian, I know what's the standard of the M.Tech people of IIT, they end up in stale teaching jobs such as Lovely Professional University.

@ Author - Dude, you are a piece of shit! You tried to talk about love and dreams, and at the same time fingered a whore's throbbing area. What the fuck! Your face itself speaks volumes about your low-standard. Better teach chemistry to those lovely kids rather than trying your hand at writing. Even your bloody publicist Ashish Gourav writes thousand times better than you!

@ People who cried/liked reading the book - I spit on your taste of literature. You people will always remain rotten as hell...

Good Night.

@ Ashish(once again) - If you've got balls, then publish this.

Ashish Gourav said...

@Coffee

I didn't publicize it, neither the author is my relative... I'm obsessed with IITians undergraduates and postgraduates both... so can't help praising them...

prejudiced \m/

"Even your bloody publicist Ashish Gourav writes thousand times better than you!"

... I'll take that as s compliment ;)

this is easily one of the worst wannabeish novel i have ever had the bloody misfortune to read. good god felt like a 12 yr old trying to write porn. its vulgar, sick, baseless, lame and grammatically incorrect[ whats wrong with the publisher.
animesh verma tried to add everything in this novel- supposed love, ambititon, and sex-its crap. i prefer twilight anyday[comes second in my list of worst reads after this]
coffee has said everything and couldn't express myself better.
i genuinely feel sorry for those who were impressed by this book ca use it shows their pathetic taste in book.s
advise to animesh verma- if you're that interested in writing join english classes and develop a taste in literature. try reading john grisham jeff archer- dont go for classics that's way beyond you.or at least try enid blytons

First when I saw the book, I thought it to be another junk from Indian author, same boring IIT stuffs which has been written so many times by many IITians......
But as I started reading this book, I felt this is a change, especially in writing. This book is not like classic novels but it defines its own language, its a common language used by any youngster in college and day to day life. This is where the book connects.
A fab story, sentimental ending and a good plot makes this book worth reading. I guess this is one of the few light reads which gives a message--a message to dream. The love story is eternal.
Overall it was really nice reading this book and certainly it made me revisit my college days.
Hats off to you...
Waiting for your next book...

i m vry lzy in reading othr books.i hv nvr completed any novel before 1 year duration but love life & dreams on i hv read it in 3 days ..........really a heart touching book. after completing this book i wept for two hours continuously. best book i ever read.......

nastynicky said...

Hey there...
Well, first of all, i read this book quite late...
But, finished it in 5 hours. Secondly, after finishing the book, i really felt for the characters.
Deduction- The book gripped my interests till the end.
But the credits go to a good end sequence.
As for the startup...it was CHILDISH. And more importantly, the lingo sucked. Specially the grammatical aspect, as i truly don't know whom to blame. Was it the writer or the editors from the publishing house? But Animesh you truly lost on that part.
Now for the story... it was good but really took time to build up. And until it built up, your readers could really have struggled with reasons to continue with your book. The characters were good, and the incidents grooved in efficiently.
Animesh:
I really liked the character Varun. Blame it to the 'regional bias' in me or something else, but i liked your narrator. Chiefly because he is said to be from the city i am from- Dhanbad. Or may be 'cause i spent a good chunk of time, loitering around Vijay Nagar, Hudson Lines, Kamla Nagar or Knags, stuffing myself in ZEE Chicken or Zee dhaba (whatever u call it), n datin out in CCD. And I really wonder if i knew this guy, if at all he existed. And may be that was the main reason i stuck to this book.
But then you really connected well.
See, even i connected myself with the characters. You see that's where you WON the BATTLE. You connected really well.

But honestly speaking, i wont suggest your book to a person trying to improve his/her english by reading books or novels.
Anyway, good work. And do come up with better ones...

(and hey, was Varun an ISMite or resided at ISM?)

ya man the book was very touching..
the thing that delighted me was that how the reality was poured on to paper, even animesh talked of some fiction work involved but to my surprise everything looked so real, it was dificult to believev that it had some fiction as he mentioned in introduction, such was the IMPACT of his thoughts and writing. WELL DONE... I will recomend all my juniors and friends to go through it..
it is associated with everybodies life you can associate yourself in the story as one character or the other.especially ending was very very emotional.. a true pure love that aniket had for vidya how beautifully it is depicted in very simple english but very powerful..
no need to look at dictionary, such is the easiness in writing.
sorry man i have written so long, but i want to say and thank indefinately for writing such a maasterpiece. one will always remember such a modern and pure love story. lastly i wanted to figure out who is aniket and vidya.
so much impact i got from the story that i searched on internet, as everybody's character is mentionrd but they are not, is this the author himself??.. sorry to ask but so much curiosity i have got after reading the story..
you rock man.....
